Did you know that you can customize the 'Add a note to your order' field that customers see on your Shopify checkout page? Read more about it here. Several of our clients use this field as a means to enter in a gift message. If this applies to you, or you would like to start using it as a gift message field, then keep reading!
We have added a Shopify integration setting where you can now map your Order Notes to be used as a Gift Message! So, what does that mean exactly? Once it is mapped as a Gift Message we'll do a couple things with it.
We'll send that gift message to Amazon MCF so that it is printed on the packing slip. This means the recipient will see the gift message that was typed by your buyer.
You will have the option to send this information to ShipStation as a custom field. Read about how to do so here.
Does this sound like something you'd use? Let's go over how to set up your Shopify channel to use Order Notes as Gift Messages.
- Go to your Shopify channel integration by clicking Integrations in the header and selected Channel Integrations, then selecting Edit next to the Shopify channel you wish to update.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- At the bottom of the page you will see a checkbox that says "Map order notes to gift message". Check this box and voila!
